We are small Café located in Newark by Saint Michael’s Medical Hospital and the Newark Museum of Art. You can find us next to the EZMarket on University Ave. We offer a wide variety of healthy breakfast options all day. If you are looking for a quick bite, we got you covered. Incredible service and lovely food. Shoutout to Brenna for the great service and for making me feel so welcome. The staff here is wonderful. It is so important to support small businesses like Mocha Town that do great work for the Newark community and the nearby universities Rutgers and NJIT. Definitely stop in for a quick grab and go muffin or a refreshing protein smoothie.

Have been looking for a place to grab coffee and breakfast near my job and was excited to try Mocha Town. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and the guy looks at me like I’m crazy, but then proceeds to make it. He hands me the cappuccino and I ask if I can get an empanada since I was eyeing them in the case while he was making my drink. He then very rudely tells me that I should’ve ordered on the kiosk because he could’ve had both my coffee and empanada ready at the same time. Irritated by his response, I said to forget the empanada and I’ll just pay for my cappuccino. He just said “ok” and took my payment. There was one person behind me in line so it’s not like the dude was stressed or anything. He could’ve also given me the empanada and then told me to use the kiosk next time and I would’ve been fine with that. But I left hungry and had to go somewhere else to get food. Not cool.

This place is my go-to breakfast shop! Their food is delicious, and there milkshakes are the best made around campus !

The vibes are plentiful especially if you’re a student or worker. They play a good mix of music from the early 2000s hits and have plenty of seats. The food menu is somewhat expansive because they offer multiple breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drink options.

Felt like a waste of time. Tried this place for a second time to give it another try, but ended up having the same results, the wait time was unnecessarily long (30 min) for 2 items. The bagel barely had any cream cheese and the bacon was soggy. The coffee is mediocre at best. only redeeming quality is the customer service besides that, I would not recommend <3
